TO FRIENDS THAT ONCE WERE

Our paths may never cross again

Our stories may never echo in unison

But your memories stay etched deep in my heart

Thank you for bringing joy to my heart

And even if you didn’t, my heart doesn’t bleed anymore

I hope you cradle our memories close, just like I do

And heal from the ones that hurt you

Even if we never share the same breath

Or hold our aching tummies over a private joke

We can trace our steps back to memory lane

And ride the journey all over again

To friends that once were,

We made the world our playground

And now the moon has marked our years together

And created stars to twinkle, just for us
