Ada’s Prayer

In the midst of the fire
may your hands stay firmly entwined in mine
your robe of affection covering my bleeding heart

On this road to redemption
may I not get lost in the high of the moment
forgetting that you are my home and my delight

In this sea of war and victory
may my heart not be hardened,
panel beaten to a state of stubbornness
because of my pride

May I remember to stay soft and healable,
remind me you have made this heart as it is:
one of flesh and forgiveness
a fountain of love, a garden of peace
